This policy applies to all information potentially collected or submitted using the RapidBART iOS speed-reading application.
Information we collect
All collected information is stored locally in a database that resides on your iOS device, inside the segregated sandbox of the RapidBART app, and is never forwarded to a remote server, external company, or analyzed remotely.
RapidBART only stores two pieces of information if the user decides to save them: your normal morning BART station and the evening BART station you depart from to get home. RapidBART asks to allow the use of your GPS coordinates but these are not stored, tracked after the fact, forwarded anywhere, or otherwise analyzed except to determine the closest BART station to your current location.
We strongly believe your data belongs to you and do not use it in any other way. What we do store is only used to permit the app to be more convenient for you to use.
If the application is deleted off of the device, the stored stations are deleted as well, thus, making you in complete control over your own data.
RapidBART does not require account creation or login to access the app. No information gathered and stored locally during normal operation of the app is correlated with any account that could be used to uniquely identify an individual.
If you choose to set them, which is encouraged for correct and easy operation of the app, the morning and evening BART stations are simply stored in the local database of the app. If you make changes to these, say you take a trip that's outside the normal stations you use and set them on the fly, those temporary stations are stored as well. Again, these are not stored or used for any other operation than smooth and easy app operation.
We do not connect RapidBART to any social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook.
Ads and analytics
RapidBART is not for-profit and we do not currently present ads to the end user. We also do not use analytics code to process how you use the app or send data to third-parties for processing.
We do not collect user data for processing remotely. Your application data is only used to operate RapidBART and is entirely stored within the app inside a database. All the collected information stored in the application database will be lost if the application is deleted.
We may disclose information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.
RapidBART was not written to require the use of any user accounts, none of your RapidBART application data is sent to remote servers, and it is only stored in a local database accessible to only our app. Thus, RapidBART relies on the security inherent to the iOS operating system.
Accessing, changing, or deleting your information
Data that is collected is stored within the RapidBART application database. The data is not user-accessible but if the application is removed from the device that data is deleted permanently.
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We never collect or maintain information in our application or website from any individuals, including those under 13, and no part of our website or application is structured to attract anyone under 13.
Information for European Union Customers
No user information is stored remotely for any individual, it is strictly maintained within the sandbox of the RapidBART application. Thus, as it pertains to European Union privacy matters, none of the customers' data is stored overseas.
International Transfers of Information
Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used. The RapidBART application only holds data internally within the app and it is deleted when the application is deleted on the user device.
